Preparing for 2023 Resolutions

A new year in an institution can mean a lot, such as work achievement, performance evaluation, system optimization, development, and targets for the next year. To formulate them, on December 22-24, 2022, we have arranged an offline FGD of LAMDIK at Shangri-La Hotel Surabaya attended by LAMDIK’s board of organizers, board of directors, divisions, staff, as well as source people discussing the following matters:

  1. Equalization of LAMDIK instruments 1.0 revision version;
  2. Review of LAMDIK SPMI documents;
  3. Development and review of LAMDIK Finance SIM;
  4. Development of features and contents of the LAMDIK website, and;
  5. Follow-up of quarterly and annual reports of LAMDIK.
LAMDIK FGD December 22-24, 2022 (Doc. Lamdik)

Regarding work achievement, the data of the accreditation team until the end of 2022 have encompassed more than 600 study programs that have conducted Field Assessments, 400 of which have been granted an Accreditation Decree. There are 200 study programs remaining that have not been given Accreditation Decrees of which 79 of them were due to inappropriate uploads of tax deduction files, and the remaining 121 will be discussed by the Accreditation Council on Friday, December 30, 2022. The system optimization will keep going, one of which is the English feature on the website lamdik.or.id that can already be accessed. Furthermore, at the beginning of 2023, there will be a comprehensive change on the LAMDIK website, in order to look more professional and convenient to access the accreditation information. The targets in 2023 have been measured, it has been recorded that 1000 study programs will undergo accreditation in LAMDIK. These overall matters are summarized and become the basis for LAMDIK resolutions formulation in 2023.

Towards the Accreditation Instruments 2.0

“The purpose of accreditation is not about ranking but quality culture.” This sentence is often delivered by Prof. Dr. Muchlas Samani, M.Pd., the Chairperson of LAMDIK. It is short yet difficult to implement. One of the primary foundations towards this goal is accreditation instruments that are relevant and credible. The question is, how do we compose relevant instruments amid this disruption era or massive and fast-paced changes?

Evaluation and development must be continually carried out by LAMDIK, one of which is on accreditation instruments and LAMDIK’s active role within the development of education in Indonesia. In accordance with it, from 30 November to 1 December 2022, LAMDIK arranged an FGD of Directions of Higher Education Future Development and Relevant Accreditation Instruments.

This activity was held offline in Hotel Century Jakarta. It was attended by the Organizer Board of LAMDIK, Directors, Divisions, and staff as well as the source people as follows:

  1. Prof. Dr. Ir. K.H. Mohammad Nuh, DEA., (Minister of National Education of 2009 – 2014)
  2. Prof. Drs. H. Ganefri, M.Pd., Ph.D., (Chair of LAMDIK's Board of Advisors)
  3. Prof. Intan Ahmad, Ph.D., (Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Research and Higher Education 2015)
  4. Bahrul Hayat, Ph.D., (Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion of 2006 – 2014), and
  5. A number of LAMDIK assessors.

There were plenty of crucial records in this discussion, as conveyed by Prof. Intan Ahmad., Ph.D., regarding the discrepancy between curriculum suitability and field necessities. How come university graduates in 2022 learned for 4 years with expired or even irrelevant materials? This relevance was also accounted within the accreditation instruments by Prof. Dr. Muslimin Ibrahim, M.Pd., in this online learning era, whether the ratio of lecturers and students is still relevant. Those records in question underlie LAMDIK in realizing instruments 2.0 which are soon to be developed and commenced at the beginning of 2023.

LAMDIK at the End of 2022

The Educational Independent Accreditation Agency (LAMDIK) has started its duties to accredit study programs throughout Indonesia. More than 1500 study programs have registered online (RO) and as many as 361 of which have obtained the Decree of Accreditation Rank by LAMDIK

All accreditation processes which have been carried out until the end of this year must be recorded in the form of written report so that the performance achievement can be mapped structurally, henceforth the development and evaluation are able to be optimized. In addition, Teacher Professional Education (PPG) is also covered by LAMDIK in accordance with the Regulation of BAN-PT No. 10 of 2021. By 1 December 2022, one PPG program has uploaded accreditation documents in LAMDIK, it requires trials to ensure Adequacy Assessment, Field Assessment, and SIMALAMDIK can operate properly for PPG.

Based on that matter, on December 2-4, 2022 FGD for LAMDIK Annual Report Preparation and SIMALAMDIK Trial for PPG have been arranged. The participants were daily executives including the general chairperson, directors, divisions, staffs as well as two LAMDIK assessors to discuss program study accreditation for PPG. This event was held offline in Shangri-La Hotel Surabaya. On December 2, tasks were distributed and the discussion was lead by Prof. Harun Joko Prayitno, M.Hum., as the Accreditation Director of LAMDIK. The annual report generally covers governance, quality assurance management, accreditation process, and finance. Another discussion for PPG assessment trials was separately conducted by two LAMDIK assessors, Prof. Dr. H. Muslimin Ibrahim, M.Pd., and Prof. Dr. Kisyani, M.Hum. Then, on December 3, independent work was arranged in accordance with the tasks distribution until the finalization of Annual Report. Later on December 4, the finalization results of LAMDIK Annual Report shall be exposed.

During independent work session and discussion, Prof. Dr. H. Muchlas Samani, M.Pd., as LAMDIK general chairperson, approached one of the staffs and said, “Each of us has 24 hours every day, if we cannot make use of it well, it means we are negligent.””.
